Project Overview
In April 2025, we provided technical services for an eight-part podcast series for The Dogs Trust, produced by Georgie Nel. Hosted by Charlotte Hawkins and featuring dog behaviourist Kris Glover, the project aimed to provide expert advice to dog owners. We filmed the entire series on location at the Dogs Trust Harefield centre.

The Approach
Efficiency was the priority. Recording eight episodes in a single day is a heavy workload. To manage this, we used a four-camera setup and live-switched the feed. This meant we could edit the video in real-time as we recorded, significantly reducing post-production time.
Challenges & Solutions
The location presented the biggest hurdle. Harefield is a working rehoming centre, meaning background noise – specifically barking dogs – was a constant risk. We had to isolate the audio carefully, using high-quality directional microphones to keep the dialogue clean.
Fatigue was another factor. Maintaining energy levels for talent and crew over an eight-episode marathon required strict time management. We kept the technical setup reliable and the workflow smooth so the talent could focus purely on the conversation.

Outcome
We successfully delivered a full series of broadcast-quality video podcasts. The live-switching approach worked perfectly, ensuring the content was ready for distribution shortly after the shoot.
