Project Overview
During the 2025 Exhibition, the British Ceramics Biennial commissioned us to document their artist speaker series. The brief was to film artists discussing their work with a host and a live audience throughout the Biennial.

The Approach
We shot using 6K cameras and cinema lenses, which gave us high-resolution visuals and allowed for significant cropping in post-production without quality loss.
Challenges & Solutions
The venue, Spode Works, is a vast ex-industrial space. It remained open to the public during the talks, occasionally creating significant background noise from visitors.
Audio separation was therefore the priority. We used close-miking for the artists to isolate their voices from the ambient noise of the factory floor. To ensure the context wasn’t lost, we managed a system of handheld radio mics for the audience, guaranteeing that the Q&A sections were just as clear as the main presentation.

Outcome
We delivered a comprehensive, high-fidelity archive of the Biennial’s programme. The setup successfully neutralised the acoustic challenges of the industrial venue, ensuring the focus remained entirely on the artists’ words.
